The UK club scene.

We all know UK clubbing has taken a hit in recent years.

But when people do head out, what is being ordered at the bar?

A recent TikTok from XOYO (fresh from its relaunch) gives a rare, real-world snapshot of bar data after four weeks of trading.

Here’s what is flying off the bar for the nightclubbing crowd of Gen Z and young Millennials:
🥇 Double vodka - 9,760 sold
🥈 Tequila shots - 3,775 sold
🥉 Bottled water - 2,691 sold
4️⃣ Estrella - 2,421 sold
5️⃣ Jägerbombs - 1,834 sold (yes the Jägerbomb is going strong!)

A few things jump out:

Simplicity wins. Straightforward, high-impact drinks dominate, no-frills, fast-serve options that match the pace of the dancefloor.

Vodka still rules. Despite all the innovation in spirits, vodka remains the backbone of nightclub consumption.

Jägerbombs holding a top five spot shows a ‘bomb-mixed drink’ is still popular on a night out.

For brands and operators, the takeaway is simple:

In high-energy environments, speed, familiarity and function beat novelty.
Despite the rise of no/lo and more mindful drinking amongst Gen Z, the reality on the dancefloor looks pretty unchanged.

As XOYO re-establishes itself as one of London’s iconic club spaces, it appears the core behaviours of nightlife consumption are holding firm.

So the question is:

Do you innovate within these habits or is the real opportunity just executing them better?
