The pub is no longer just somewhere to have a drink  đźŤ¸

The Morning Advertiser has been looking at how operators are spending real money on giving people a reason to leave the house, from live events and entertainment to full blown immersive concepts. Think Vagabond, Little Blue Door or Boxpark, amongst others...

When everyone is watching what they spend, the pub isn't competing with the pub down the road, it’s also competing with a decent bottle and a chilled night in. Which is why the venues doing well are the ones offering something you simply can't do at home. A tasting and food pairing, a masterclass, or sport and games activities.

They are trying to create a memorable difference in a crowded market.

The on-trade is going experience-led, and the operators who get it right won't just be pouring a good drink, they will be giving people somewhere worth drinking it. 🍻
