UK Hospitality at a Tipping Point

UK Hospitality has warned that the sector is on course for 111,000 job losses by the time of the November Budget if current cost pressures continue.

That’s on top of the 84,000 roles already lost since last year’s Budget, which is more than half of all UK job losses in that period.

With employer NIC changes, business rates, and VAT squeezing margins, pubs, bars, and restaurants are being pushed to their breaking point. This isn’t just about venues, it’s about livelihoods, communities and culture.

Without urgent support, the damage could be irreversible. If the Government wants hospitality to thrive, not just survive, the upcoming Budget will be critical.

What measures would you like to see introduced to support the sector?
