Back to the Future for London Cocktail Week

Last week, team Stir went out for London Cocktail Week to check out the best of the capital's cocktail scene.

We stopped by Discount Suit Company for their Basement Loft Party with Angel's Envy. The highlight for me was the Birch Plz guest cocktail, made with Angel’s Envy bourbon, Red Maple Sake, Birch, Beurre Noisette and Pecan, and just £9 with a wristband. Oh and free punch on arrival. Unreal.

Meanwhile, Jessica opted for something slightly more refined with the Dante x Claridge's experience. NYC's Dante brought a London twist to its signature Caviar Martini. Using Grey Goose Altius, the team crafted a smooth, elegant martini perfectly paired with caviar. Fancy (classic Jess).

The experiences we had were brilliant, but we couldn’t help notice how much smaller the week felt this year. Compared with years gone by, there seemed to be less awareness, coverage and advertising around what used to be one of the biggest celebrations of London’s hospitality scene.

That’s why we were delighted to see that the founders Siobhan Payne and Hannah Sharman-Cox have regained ownership of the event. It feels like a turning point, a chance to bring the festival back to its roots, reinvigorate its energy, and celebrate the people and places that make London’s cocktail culture so special. We all know, now more than ever, the sector needs it.
